Bad Kitty Yarns started with a New Year’s resolution in 2008.  I had been a crocheter since I was a child, but in 2008 I decided it was time to learn to knit and to spin!  It all started because I wanted to know what the big deal was with knitting your own socks!  Since then I have knit for miles and have progressed from spinning with a drop spindle to a kick spindle to now spinning on my beloved Fricke spinning wheel. 

I started dyeing yarn so I could customize my own knitting and spinning and from that discovered that others might actually like the strange things I create! 

 I have a fabulous husband who is more supportive of my addictions than I have any right to have!  Bless him, he not only puts up with yarn and fiber all over the house, he brags about me to his friends and co-workers!  I have 2 wonderful and brilliant daughters who are both knitters and crocheters and spinners!  I think I have passed on the disease! LOL!  They both love to help with my dyeing and blending and pretty much any other craft I can get into!  I have the most beautiful and talented and brilliant granddaughter in the world!  She is almost 3 and she is so awesome she already controls everyone in the house! LOL! 

I work part-time as an admin assistant, some day I hope to be able to let that go and focus on my fiber work.  I currently work from a studio in my house where not only do I have a great room for all my yarn and work.  We have built a dye lab so I don’t have to make my mess all over the whole house!  I love working at the house so I can keep close to my family!

I enjoy listening to audio books while I am working and I also enjoy watching reality challenge shows on tv like Survivor, Amazing Race, Top Chef, Project Runway and other shows that challenge the player.  I am a huge Harry Potter Fan, I LOVE Firefly and wish it would come back, I enjoy musicals and stand up comedy. 

As you will see in my yarns and fibers I LOVE bright, vibrant colors and contrasting colors!  My favorite colors are blues!
